Alarm Control System (ACS) ensures that alarm management and notification is automatic, efficient and reliable. Day-to-day and business critical alarms are automatically dispatched to MOTOTRBO™ radios, mobile phones and/or email enabled devices. ACS dispatches notifications to the right person based on the time of day and the competency necessary to respond to the task. The closed loop system ensures that all alarms are acknowledged, resolved and closed. ACS also enables rich reporting features to track: alarm notification, response actions and time to completion.

Alarm Notification & Work Ticket Generation to MOTOTRBO™ Digital Radios & Other Devices with ACS


Alarm Control System (ACS) is a software application that automatically dispatches safety and business critical alarms and work tickets to MOTOTRBO™ digital radios, Android devices and other mobile devices. When an alarm is raised or a work ticket is generated, ACS immediately identifies the available employee and sends the notification. ACS works as a closed loop system, and the alarm or work ticket is escalated until it is acknowledged. Users respond to the notification to update the alarm or work ticket’s status as it is accepted or declined, and closed.

This listener is used when the alarm source is capable of sending an email when an alarm is triggered.
Example: hotel management systems, fire panels, data centers, building management systems.

This listener is used when the alarm source writes out alarm information on a serial port when an alarm is raised.
Example: fire panels, building management systems.

MOTOTRBO™ Listener

MOTOTRBO Text Message Listener

This listener is used to trigger alarms activated by pushing the emergency button of a MOTOTRBO™ radio or with the radio's telemetry settings.
Example: panic button activation, monitoring personnel entry in a room.

Android Listener

Android WiFi Listener

This listener is used to trigger alarms activated by pushing the emergency button on an Android smartphone equipped with the ACS Alarm App.
Example: panic button activation, call for assistance

I/O Listener

I/O Listener

This listener is used when the alarm source is a set of input ports which indicate a given alarm situation. Often used in legacy electrical systems and factory automation systems.
Example: connecting to closing contact of wiring in the engine room of a ship.

Text Message Listener

Text Message Listener

This listener is used when the alarm source sends out a wireless text message when an alarm is raised.
Example: integration to telephony option systems (ex: press 4 to report absence).

Desktop Messenger Listener

ACS Desktop Messenger

ACS Desktop Messenger is used to send notifications to individual users and groups. Canned and free-form messages can be sent from the desktop client.
Example: emergency messaging to mobile workers, severe weather notification, basic job ticketing solution.

This listener is used when the alarm sources are Network Controllers that output alarms in SNMP format.
Example: Data center Monitoring or Building Management Systems.

Example: custom written software such as job ticketing systems and building management systems.

Dial into RBX from a phone to generate an alarm/request or page someone directly on their radio. Alarm can include information about who generated the alarm (requires PBX system which support caller ID.
Example: dial #4 to generate emergency alarm & email, quickly page employee updates

System Architecture

ACS is a software application installed on a server which automatically notifies the appropriate individuals of alarm notifications, emergencies and work tickets directly on their mobile device of choice. The server interfaces to third party alarm systems, work ticket management systems, building management systems, and other alarm generating sources by listening for alarm triggers. ACS can virtually interface with any alarm sources because of the diversity of its alarm listeners.


ACS is versatile and can notify employees on the device of their choice. It sends notifications via email and text message, as well as text and audio notifications for MOTOTRBO™ radios, Android devices, and mobile phones. ACS is compatible with all MOTOTRBO™ digital display radios in Direct, Repeater, Capacity Plus, IP Site Connect, Linked Capacity Plus & Capacity Max modes.
