MOTOTRBO™ Voice and Data Apps for Correctional Facilities

Whether it’s a large penitentiary, a regional prison or a local jail, employee safety is of prime concern in any correctional facility. With increasing quantities of information to manage and the unpredictable nature of correctional facilities, it’s critical to implement a system that will improve communication and decrease response times. Teldio™ applications integrate seamlessly with facility-wide communication and security systems to improve staff and prisoner safety, increase operational efficiency and ensure rapid response to day-to-day and emergency situations. They can function individually or be bundled to create customized solutions for your MOTOTRBO™ radio network.

Solution Benefits

Keeping Them Connected

Keeping workers connected means that they are able to communicate freely, from anywhere in the correctional facility, at any time. With Teldio’s RBX +Plus, workers are always connected with their MOTOTRBO™ radio. They can make and receive phone calls directly from their radio handsets. Managers and team supervisors can also dial into radio talkgroups and communicate with groups of radio users from any phone, at any time, from anywhere. With Teldio’s R2R and RBX +Plus applications, radio-to-radio and phone-to-radio conversations can also be recorded for increased auditing capability.

Keeping Them Informed

Keeping workers informed ensures that they make the best decisions based on real-time information. ACS sends workers notifications on their MOTOTRBO™ radios alerting them of alarms triggered from often disparate sources, such as security systems, pull-cord alarms and panic buttons. Receiving notifications of these alarms on MOTOTRBO radios significantly improves response times. Keeping workers informed also involves sending them up-to-date work tickets directly on their radio handsets. ACS allows supervisors to generate work tickets and track their status from any computer on the network.

Keeping Them Safe

Keeping workers safe not only ensures that you comply with health and safety regulations, but that you practice your work alone policies. Teldio offers two applications that monitor lone worker safety either continuously or periodically. MDN works directly on the MOTOTRBO™ radio and detects falls and lack of movement with the radio’s motion sensor. While CLW sends ‘Alive Checks’ to mobile workers to periodically verify their wellbeing. Both applications can be used to monitor staff working alone overnight such as security guards.

In correctional facilities, keeping prisoners safe is just as important as worker security. With ACS, emergency panic buttons can be linked directly to security radios to ensure rapid response when distressed prisoners or employees require assistance.

Knowing Their Whereabouts

Knowing the whereabouts of workers helps reduce response times in emergencies. GIPS, Teldio’s outdoor and indoor positioning system, integrates with MOTOTRBO™ radios to send the location data of workers in distress when they activate their panic button, or they fail to respond to a CLW ‘Alive Check’ message. GIPS also improves productivity by providing the real-time location data of important assets and workers, such as transport vehicles and security guards.
